Overland Java-Bali Photography Workshop
( Mount Bromo – Ijen Crater – Banyuwangi -Bali )
Date : 27th July – 2nd August, 2025

This trip comprises unforgettable experiences across two islands of Indonesia with spectacular natural beauty and unique cultures — Java and Bali. These destinations are some of my favourite places to explore in Indonesia. I’ll take you on a journey unlike any other: enjoyable, unique, and unforgettable. Let’s explore together!
Mount Bromo, the Wonder of East Java
Standing at an elevation of 2,392 meters, Mount Bromo mesmerizes with its breath-taking landscapes, despite not being one of Indonesia’s tallest mountains. Located approximately a 4-hour drive from Surabaya, the capital of East Java, Mount Bromo is part of the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park, which spans an area of 800 square kilometers. Situated within the vast caldera of the ancient Tengger volcano, the mountain is surrounded by a sea of volcanic sand that exudes a magical aura. This area is also home to the Tengger people, who continue to preserve their traditional customs and cultural heritage.
Ijen Crater
Ijen Crater captivates visitors with its unique natural phenomenon known as the blue fire, which can only be found in two places in the world: Mount Ijen and Iceland. This extraordinary sight adds to the charm of the area, which features a turquoise sulfur lake and dramatic crater landscapes. Additionally, you will be inspired by the resilience of sulfur miners who work amidst challenging conditions. Ijen Crater is a perfect destination for photography and adventure enthusiasts, offering stunning moments at every turn.
Banyuwangi, Gateway to Cultural and Natural Beauty
Known as the “Sunrise of Java,” Banyuwangi offers a perfect harmony of natural beauty and rich local traditions. Beyond being a gateway to Ijen Crater, Banyuwangi boasts other attractions, such as Djawatan Forest. This unique forest, with its giant rain trees, creates a mystical ambiance reminiscent of a fairytale setting. With its cultural attractions and pristine beaches, Banyuwangi is a destination not to be missed.
Bali, the Island of Gods O
verland
Bali enchants with its perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. Enjoy breath-taking sunrises on its tranquil beaches and romantic sunsets that captivate travellers worldwide. Don’t miss the Kecak dance performances in stunning locations or the chance to photograph Balinese people in their colourful and intricately designed traditional attire. Bali offers not only a visual feast but also a deep spiritual and cultural experience, leaving an indelible impression on every visitor.
